About this teaching

"The Word of Wisdom," is a supernatural revelation by the Holy Spirit. We discuss how the word of wisdom differs from the Word of Knowledge. The Word of Wisdom focuses on futuristic insights as opposed to the present or past focus of the Word of Knowledge.

The word of wisdom should not be confused with prophecy, although they are closely associated and often intermingled. We use biblical examples, such as Noah in Genesis 6 and Abraham in Genesis 18, to illustrate how the word of wisdom operates, revealing future events and guiding actions based on those revelations.

Our discussion also covers the practical implications of this gift in various settings, including the church and personal lives. We emphasize the importance of discerning the source of these revelations, differentiating them from familiar spirits, and understanding their purpose. We stress that these revelations should be used for edification and intervention, not merely for showcasing one's spiritual gifts.

We highlight the critical role of wisdom and maturity in handling such revelations, ensuring that they are communicated and acted upon appropriately. We also touch upon the conditional nature of some revelations, as seen in the cases of King Hezekiah and Jonah, where intercession or repentance can alter the outcome.

In conclusion, we recognize the word of wisdom as a vital spiritual gift, capable of guiding decisions and actions for the future. We acknowledge its significance in providing divine insight and direction, thus enriching the spiritual life of the church and individual believers. We conclude with the understanding that being open to the Holy Spirit and grounded in the word of God is essential for discerning and utilizing this gift effectively.
