About this teaching

We explore the themes of restoration, renewal, and the significance of small beginnings as illustrated in the book of Zechariah, particularly focusing on Zechariah 4:10. We are reminded not to despise the days of small things, recognizing that even in the early stages of any endeavor, God's hand is at work. The sermon draws parallels between the discouragement faced by the people of Judah during the rebuilding of the second temple and our own experiences of feeling disheartened in the face of seemingly insignificant progress. We are encouraged to see the laying of each foundation, no matter how small, as a significant step in God's greater plan.

Restoration can be understood in terms of recovery of what has been lost and rebuilding of what has been destroyed. We are now in an era of restoration, where God is actively working to recover lost years and rebuild broken walls in our lives. This restoration is not just a physical rebuilding but also a spiritual renewal. We are called to trust in God's process, even when progress seems minimal, and to remain steadfast in our faith, knowing that God is at work in both the grand and the humble beginnings. The message concludes with a call to embrace the small beginnings and trust in God's promise of restoration and renewal.
